I’m sure you know by now that we enjoy a good chicken wing, whether it is a Buffalo Wing, BBQ Wing, Teriyaki Wing, etc., we love them all. I mean, we do have our own Wing Sauce, “Gamedayeats.com Wing Sauce Especial”. So when we wanted to try a different type of take on the chicken wing that we were not so used to, we scoured the internet and found this recipe that was so good and different from the usual, we had to let you know the recipe and how great they tasted. I give you “Checkpoint Chicky Wings from the BBQ Shack in Kansas”, you will not be disappointed.
Checkpoint Chicky Wings from The BBQ Shack in Kansas
1/4 cup white sugar 2 Tablespoons onion salt 2 Tablespoons garlic salt 2 Tablespoons paprika 2 teaspoons chili powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon lemon pepper 1 teaspoon rubbed sage 1 teaspoon dried basil 1/4 teaspoon ground rosemary 1/4 teaspoon cayenne 3 pounds chicken wings (about 15) Oil, for frying 2 ounces barbecue sauce, we recommend Gamedayeats Boss Sauce
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Combine sugar, onion salt, garlic salt, paprika, chili powder, black pepper, lemon pepper, sage, basil, rosemary, and cayenne in an airtight container and blend well. Set aside until ready to use.
- Rinse the wings with water and pat dry.
- Place a liberal amount of rub on wings.

- Bake wings for 1 hour.
- Heat fryer oil to 375. When wings are cooked, place in fryer for about 1-2 minutes to crisp them up.
- Pour bbq sauce over wings and enjoy!
