Hobgoblin Beer by Wychwood

This week I tried a robust beer by Wychwood, called Hobgoblin.  You can tell the folks at Wychwood take brewing very seriously.  This beer has a complex flavor that would go well with many things.  I think this beer would go very well with a sharp cheddar, or even a bowl of cheddar cheese soup.  But let’s talk about the beer.

This is a traditionally craft brewed ruby beer which has notes of toffee, citrus, and chocolate.     This beer has a nice long finish that has a touch of bitterness, along with those chocolate and citrus notes.  This beer is one that I would definitely pick up again.

ABV 5.2%
Hops: Fuggles and Styrians
Malt: Pale, Crystal, and Chocoalte
Style: Ruby Beer
Smell: Toffee, slight citrus, chocolate
Taste: Toffee, dry, citrus notes
