Samuel Adams Octoberfest by Curt

1403240549_bd7fcba1c3_bOctober, a month where Fall is in full swing, the leaves change, temperatures get a little colder and the seasonal beers come out.  The time of year when both NCAA and NFL Football are going strong, Tailgating is being hit hard by the fans.  This is a time that definitely calls for a darker type of brew, Octoberfest beers are being brewed for all of us.  Can you taste it?  Darker amber color beers with spices and malts to keep you warm for the colder weather and outings in the parking lot, this is definitely a festival of October without the deathtrap rides.

Being that it is October I needed to taste some Octoberfest beer and picked up a six pack of Samuel Adams Octoberfest.  Figured it would go great with my Chili Beer Chicken being cooked on the Weber.  I popped opened the first bottle and got a whiff of a nice aroma of malts and spices, poured the fest into my pint glass, a golden amber color with a semi firm head, it had all the makings of being a good tasting beer.  First sip was full of spices and flavor, tasting the malts all the way down my throat with a pleasant after taste that didn’t over stay its welcome.

Overall, a good Octoberfest brew that is perfect for a cool Fall day or an evening by the fire.  That sounded too Jack Handy without the wrong ending.  Enjoy the brew.

  1. I’ve tried pretty much all the available Fall brews available in my area, searching for a less commercial gem, but this one still stands out as my favorite. Good work Samy!
